A brave attempt to extend on the amazing proto punk of their debut album. A rare occurrence of a second album being as good as, and in fact, slightly better than the astonishing debut.
Lets face it, a band's second album is usually disappointing, the comfort factor sets in, and the music gets less daring. None of that here. From the opening roar of 'Down On The Street' to the high pitched death cry of 'LA Blues', the band build and expand on the chunky, grunge riffing of the first album.
It's hard to improve on near perfection, but with this album, Iggy et al have nearly succeeded. Heavier than a thousand Iron Maiden albums, and featuring some of Ron Asheton's most amazing lead guitar abuse. This is definitely not heavy metal. This is heavy rock . Rock on dudes, Rock on.
